When sisters Ruby and Pearl discover a long-lost family riddle hidden in their grandmother’s mansion, they set out to solve the mystery – before someone else does.
Moving with their parents from their Wisconsin farm to their grandmother’s sprawling Maine mansion, Ruby and Pearl are thrilled to explore their new home – especially when they, along with their curious cat Peaches, stumble upon clues to a hidden family treasure. But as threats of pirates and spies begin to feel real, the sisters fear they’re not the only ones seeking the treasure, and their adventure suddenly turns into a race to protect their family’s home.
RUBY AND PEARL ADVENTURES: SERPENTS AND DOVES is a complete middle grade mystery-adventure at 37,000 words. While it is the first in a planned series, it also stands alone. It will appeal to readers who enjoy the family warmth of The Vanderbeekers and The Penderwicks, the adventures of The Boxcar Children and the mystery of Nancy Drew. This book was inspired by my desire to give my grandchildren a wholesome, mystery story filled with adventure, fun educational elements, subtle Christian themes and strong multigenerational family bonds.
